Ford said its 2027 Fathom pickup will carry a starting MSRP of $28,350 and offer optional bidirectional AC power, so no separate wall-mounted inverter is needed to send energy to a house. Owners can charge when electricity is cheap and run the home from the battery when prices rise, using Ford's Home Power Station, which the company expects to be priced at roughly half of its first-generation bidirectional charger. Backup power during outages also requires a Home Backup Power Panel that Ford expects to be at least 60% cheaper than its earlier backup hardware. The truck is due in 2027, according to Ford.
