BYD and Iberdrola offer Spanish buyers cheaper home wallbox and charging

BYD and Iberdrola launched a charging package in Spain for buyers of BYD electric cars and plug-in hybrids, Electric Cars Report said.

The offer builds on an existing partnership and has four parts:

• A wallbox installation at half the market price, a potential saving of 969 euros, Iberdrola said
• A discount on the home electricity contract matching the energy for about 10,000 km a year over three years, at 0.25 euros per kWh including taxes
• Half-price charging at selected Iberdrola public stations for six months
• After that a free 12-month Plan Recarga + membership, normally 9.99 euros a month, with 20% off public charging

Iberdrola has installed about 100,000 charging points in Spain, public and private. Its public network has more than 12,000 in operation.
