Six Chinese battery makers took 56.4% of EV battery installations outside China between January and September, according to SNE Research data reported by CarNewsChina.
Their combined share rose by more than 13 percentage points from a year earlier.
Installations outside China, with growth from a year earlier:
- CATL: 143.7 GWh, up 46.7%
- BYD: 45.9 GWh, up 66.8%
- Gotion High-Tech: 17.6 GWh, up 153.8%
- Svolt: 13.1 GWh, up 102.3%
- CALB: 10.6 GWh, up 88.5%
- Eve Energy: 9.5 GWh, up 214.6%
SNE Research said trial production at CATL's Hungarian plant should firm up its European supply. BYD ranks third with a 10.8% share, and its growth follows its own vehicle exports.
Samsung SDI, SK On and LG Energy Solution together fell to 26.5% from 38.2%. Their installations dropped 13.5% to 113 GWh, largely because of a sharp contraction in North America.
Panasonic's share slipped to 8.4% on 35.6 GWh.
