Tesla answered a special order from NHTSA on whether the Cybercab complies with federal safety rules, then asked the agency to treat the whole response as confidential, Electrek reported.
The order demanded answers under oath, and Drive Tesla reported that it posed 21 certification questions. On the public docket, the full reply carries a confidential marking, the outlet said.
The Cybercab lacks a steering wheel, pedals and mirrors. Any explanation of how Tesla certified such a car is redacted, according to Electrek.
