EVgo has opened its first site with Tesla Superchargers near downtown Chicago, the start of a rollout of hundreds of such stalls across the U.S., the company said.
The V4 stalls and cabinets come from Tesla's Supercharger for Business program, Teslarati reported. Ownership of the stations and pricing stay with EVgo.
Magic Dock connectors let NACS and CCS cars plug in without adapters. Tesla and non-Tesla drivers pay the same rate, which varies by hour.
Most of the planned sites will be at Regency Centers retail properties anchored by grocery stores. Tesla's navigation system and its Trip Planner list the stalls.
Demand on EVgo's network has grown more than 700% in three years, and EV registrations in Illinois rose nearly 60% over two years, Teslarati reported.
